Round 6 Round Up
30 Mar 2025

Round 6 of the Betfred Super League kicked off on Thursday night with Hull FC travelling to the Jungle to face Castleford Tigers, as they looked to continue their impressive winning streak.
Hull’s star man Herman Ese’ese crashed over the line to give his side an early lead, before Rowan Milnes quickly levelled the scores.
But Hull continued to attack, and some lovely play saw skipper Aidan Sezer race in under the posts. Tom Briscoe then dotted down in the corner to put the Black & Whites 18-6 up at the break.
The visitors’ dominance carried over into the second stanza when Lewis Martin scored to put the game out of Castleford’s reach.
This didn’t stop a late resurgence from the Tigers, however, as former Hull man Tex Hoy produced some individual brilliance to score and Josh Simm touched to further reduce the deficit.
But despite this late effort from Danny McGuire's men, it was to be Hull’s night once more (14-24).

Friday night saw a significant milestone for the sport as Super League’s 5000th game took place - and it was Warrington versus Leeds.
A classic encounter unfolded at the Halliwell Jones Stadium as the Wolves fought their way back in to win.
Young Arron Lindop put the hosts in front with a sensational score, but it was all Leeds from then on, as Brad Arthur’s men crossed three times courtesy of James McDonnell, Riley Lumb and Ryan Hall.
The Rhinos led 6-14, but Wire's late burst of energy saw Stefan Ratchford stretch out to score and successfully convert his own try to bring Game 5000 to a grandstand finish.
Seven minutes from time, Leeds’ Keenan Palasia found himself being sent to the sin-bin – and on the very next set Jake Thewlis dived over in the corner to clinch a dramatic victory for Warrington (16-14).
Is that the match winner? ?

Wakefield Trinity continued their superb away form, running in seven tries against Leigh Leopards (14-40).
Olly Russell, Mike McMeeken and Tom Johnstone all grabbed braces, with Liam Hood also on the scoresheet.
Trin raced into a 0-12 lead before the Leopards managed to pull it back with tries through Umyla Hanley and Keanan Brand.
Any hope was soon dashed though - and Trinity always led - before going on to produce a brilliant second half performance which included two trademark Johnstone interceptions and breakaway tries.
As Leigh were consigned to their second successive Super League defeat, they will have to dust themselves down quickly, as they meet with Wakefield once again in the Betfred Challenge Cup Quarter Finals next Friday.

There was another thriller in Perpignan on Saturday when Catalans hosted St Helens.
Tristan Sailor scored twice to give Saints the advantage early on, but the Dragons’ main man Sam Tomkins soon replied with two tries of his own.
Their number 1 then kicked a penalty to level the scores before Jonny Lomax and Luke Keary kicked a drop goal each in attempt to seal the match.
Tensions were running high with two minutes on the clock, but captain Lomax, cool as ever, slotted over the decisive one pointer and took the spoils (13-14).
It was Saints' first win in the south of France since 2018.
Saints will meet with Warrington in the Challenge Cup Quarters next Sunday with both sides boosted by their pulsating Round 6 wins - meanwhile Catalans are at home to Salford.

Following Sunday’s result, Hull KR remain unbeaten and top of the Super League table after a comprehensive 4-50 victory away at Huddersfield.
The Giants’ second half woes go on, as Willie Peters’ men produced 34 unanswered points to hit half a century and make it six wins from six rounds.
It was a top versus bottom clash but the league leaders ran rampant with nine tries, including a magic Mikey Lewis hat-trick.
The Robins have set themselves in good stead for their mouthwatering Quarter Final tie with inner-city rivals Hull FC next Saturday.
