Round 4 of the Betfred Super League got underway with an entertaining clash in Hull, as Hull FC hosted the Leigh Leopards.

The Leopards made the trip to Yorkshire with a perfect 3 from 3 record, meanwhile, the hosts looked revitalised under new coach John Cartwright.

Son of the Head Coach, Jed Cartwright, opened the scoring for Hull FC, before the Leopards fired back through Tesi Niu.

Hull’s ill-discipline proved costly inside the first forty, with Aidan Sezer being sent to the sin bin before Jordan Rapana saw the same fate for a high shot. Leave the Black and Whites to play with 11 for a period.

Leigh capitalised on the two man advantage, as Umyla Hanley continued his good scoring form, which saw them head to half-time with a 12-6 advantage.

The contest was on a knife edge late on, following David Armstrong’s brace which Hull had fought back through tries from Herman Ese’Ese and Harvey Barron.

A Lewis Martin try in the 79th minute, gave Hull captain Aidan Sezer a conversion attempt from the touchline to win the contest. Sezer hit the post, which sent the game to golden point at 22-22.

The Leopards saw the better field position during extra time, however, was unable to add the winning point which saw the contest end as a draw.

Elsewhere in Super League, the Robins moved to the top of the table after keeping their 100% record intact.

Mikey Lewis opened the scoring on his return from injury.

Curtis Sironen got on the end of Jack Welsby kick for the Saints, but it was the Robins who led 10-6 at half time thanks to an acrobatic finish from Tom Davies.

Former Warriors duo, Joe Burgess and Oliver Gildart combined twice, to see Gildart touch down for a double.

Welsby added a consolation score for the Saints.

The other game on Friday, saw two sides yet to win this season as the Tigers faced the Red Devils at the Jungle.

It was a closely fought contest, with nothing to split the sides at the break. Liam Horne opened the scoring for Castleford, meanwhile, Ryan Brierley hit back for the visitors.

Judah Rimbu’s scoot from the play the ball late in the contest saw Castleford record their first win of the season.

On Saturday, just one game took place as the Rhinos travelled to the South of France.

The game looked set to head to the break with a scoreless first forty, however, Luke Keary’s drop goal gave the Dragons a slender 1-0 advantage.

The Rhinos continued their unwanted record of not scoring away at the Dragons since 2022, a third straight away nilling at the South of France opposition.

Reimis Smith scored the only two tries of the contest, as Steve McNamara’s side got their first win of the season.

Sunday saw the two sides who featured in Las Vegas last weekend, return to home soil as the Wolves hosted Trinity and the Warriors welcomed the Giants.

In Cheshire, the Wolves opened the scoring through Arron Lindop, before Trinity struck back thanks to Jack Croft.

Alfie Johnson raced onto a bullet pass from George Williams, but the Wolves were unable to hold on to their lead. Trinity got the ball back from the resulting kick-off and later in the set Liam Hood scooted over to put Trinity 12-10 up at the break.

Daryl Powell’s side came out firing in the second half racing in tries from Matty Russell, Matty Storton and Caleb Hamlin-Uele.

Josh Thewlis scored a late try, but Sam Burgess’ side were unable to mount a comeback in the 30-16 defeat.

The Warriors showed no effects of their trip to Las Vegas, as 34 unanswered second half points saw them come from behind against the Giants.

Luke Robinson’s Giants took an early lead through Adam Swift, but the Warriors hit back through Liam Farrell.

Zach Eckersley put the hosts ahead for the first time on the half hour mark, before Sam Hewitt and an excellent score from George Flanagan saw Huddersfield lead 18-10 at the break.

The Champions showed their quality in the second 40 with tries from Farrell, Liam Marshall, Bevan French, Jake Wardle, Jai Field and Kruise Leeming to produce a dominant display in the end. (44-18)
