Introducing the Egg.com Power Rankings for the 2025 Betfred Super League season…
As part of the Betfred Super League’s latest partnership with Egg, each week our Clean Energy Solutions Partner will power the rankings of all twelve teams based on form, momentum and results.
After Round 1 the standings are as follows:

1. Leigh Leopards
Leigh Leopards top the Egg.com rankings following Round One after they ended a 42-year wait to beat Wigan Warriors on the road with a dramatic 0-1 Golden Point victory.
Gareth O’Brien’s drop-goal was the only point scored as the sides ‘got ready to rumble’ in the Battle of the Borough.
What a way to start the season by beating last year’s quadruple winners!

Hull FC come in at second spot after making a winning start under new coach John Cartwright in the south of France.

The Black & Whites had a difficult 2024 but already look to be a different team with a host of new names impressing including Cade Cust, John Asiata and Zak Hardaker.
3. Wakefield Trinity
What a return to the Betfred Super League for Trinity!
Daryl Powell guided Wakefield to victory in Round 1 against his former side Leeds Rhinos with Max Jowitt crossing for a double.
Trinity are already on more points than they were after Round 14 in their last season in the top flight in 2023.

4. St Helens
Saints were the biggest winners in Round 1 with a huge 82-0 victory against Salford Red Devils, although the visitors weren’t at full strength due to still being under the sustainability cap, which is the main reason Paul Wellens' men don’t rank higher.
Should another convincing showing come on Saturday against Castleford, there’s no doubt that they'll be climbing the table.

5. Hull KR
The Robins earned two points in Round 1, but a spirited Castleford took them all the way to Golden Point. Eventually, it was magic Mikey Lewis who salvaged the game for Hull KR in front of a sold-out Sewell Group Craven Park.

6. Warrington Wolves
Warrington are ranked the lowest of this week’s winners as they overcame Huddersfield Giants on Sunday afternoon. Matt Dufty’s late score all but sealed the win for Sam Burgess’ side but it feels like there is more to come from the Wolves.

7. Wigan Warriors
Into the losers from Round 1 and the Warriors come in as the highest of the sides who currently sit on zero points. They went all the way to the death against the Leopards and could have easily come away with the win in Golden Point.
Expect the current champions to move up the rankings in the coming weeks!
8. Castleford Tigers
Another side defeated in Golden Point was Castleford Tigers who fell to Lewis’ drop-goal in Hull.
Danny McGuire’s side surprised many with their performance following a shock Betfred Challenge Cup exit to Bradford Bulls a week prior. The only reason they come in below the Warriors is due to the fact that they did lead at half-time in their game.
9. Huddersfield Giants
Not the worst showing from the Giants in Round 1 but not the strongest either as they came out on the losing side against Warrington.
Luke Robinson's men will be looking to improve against the Leopards live on the BBC this upcoming Sunday.
10. Catalans Dragons
It was a disappointing Friday evening for the Dragons who were turned over on home soil by Hull FC.
Despite a number of new faces in the Catalans side they just couldn’t get going against Cartwright's Black & Whites. It may take some time for the Dragons to gel in 2025!
11. Leeds Rhinos
Leeds come in 11th spot after the opening weekend after a home defeat to the newly-promoted Wakefield Trinity.
The Rhinos have been heavily favoured by many in the off-season to go strongly in 2025, but they will need to bounce back in Round 2 at Salford Red Devils.
12. Salford Red Devils
A tough week on and off the field for the Red Devils sees them come bottom of the inaugural Egg.com Power Rankings. This is on the back of a 0-82 loss at the Totally Wicked Stadium.
