Hall named June's Glen's Player of the Month

Ryan Hall is the overwhelming supporters’ choice for Glen's Vodka Super League Player of the Month for June.

The 36-year-old became Super League's greatest try-scorer of all time after his double helped the Robins to a comfortable victory over Huddersfield Giants in Round 14. Hall, one of British Rugby League's all-time greats, scored two late tries as Rovers kept hold of third spot with a 32-6 win over the Giants.

Hall had waited three Super League matches since moving within one of former Leeds Rhinos’ colleague Danny McGuire’s mark of 247 tries against St Helens on 4 May. The winger looked like he may have to wait another week to match his former teammate’s mark, but on 73 minutes, and with the game already won, he collected Mikey Lewis's grubber kick to move level with McGuire.

And with just two minutes left, Lewis’s cut-out pass sent Hall racing away into the history books.

This weekend’s matches will be the first to count towards July nominations with Round 16 kicking off on Friday when Warrington Wolves face Huddersfield Giants live on Sky Sports, with coverage from 7.30pm.

The shortlist for Glen's Vodka Super League Player of the Month for July will be announced at the end of the month.
