Fantasy League debrief

Heading into Rivals Round, is now the time to make changes to your Fantasy side?

Here is a quick look at some of the performances in Week 7...

Top performers

James McDonnell kicked off the round in scintillating fashion and is this week's top performer. The Leeds Rhinos second rower was the only player to reach over 100 points and scored 104.

That will come as no shock to those who watched the Rhinos defeat the Red Devils on Thursday, as McDonnell scored a fantastic four tries.

This impressive display saw him become the second rower with the highest points in Fantasy 2025 - a total of 421.

Does he join your side ahead of the Rhinos’ Rivals Round clash with bottom of the table Huddersfield Giants?

Coming in second place this week could be a player to add to your squad. Darnell McIntosh certainly made his first Super League appearance of the season count in Round 7, scoring twice and making 190 metres from 19 carries.

The Leigh Leopards winger claimed 80 Fantasy points and could be a useful player to pick up going forward.

Taking the bronze medal this week is Wigan Warriors' scrum-half Harry Smith, who helped the champions come from behind to defeat an unbeaten Hull KR on Friday evening.

Smith scored a crucial try to put the Warriors ahead for the first time in the match, with his kicking game also helping guide his side to victory. Smith is the top scoring scrum-half so far in 2025, scoring 72 points more than second-place Aidan Sezer and 153 or more than anybody else in the entire league.

Does this consistent performer make your starting 13?

Fantasy flops

As mentioned above, Aidan Sezer is the second highest scrum-half in 2025, scoring 330 points. However, he only managed to claim seven Fantasy points in Round 7.

Despite being on the winning side, Hull FC’s half-back did not assist any of the five tries - and this will have contributed to his lack of points and overall score.

Was this a blip or is he a player who needs replacing ahead of the hotly anticipated Hull Derby?

Tommy Makinson is a player who hasn’t continued his good scoring since making the switch to the south of France.

At £140k, Makinson is one of the more expensive players in game., but claimed just 22 Fantasy points in Round 7.

With games against Salford Red Devils and Wakefield Trinity coming up, will you be sticking with the England international?

Someone who has played with Makinson on England duty, also didn’t justify his Fantasy price tag this week. Marc Sneyd was on the losing side for Warrington Wolves against Hull FC and at £160K is the most expensive scrum-half in Fantasy.

Sneyd is a player who usually produces the goods where Fantasy is concerned, so you never know... it might be worth sticking with the playmaker.

Will you stick or switch with Sneyd?
