Fantasy League debrief

The Betfred Super League returned from its one-week hiatus due to the Fourth Round of the Betfred Challenge Cup - which also means the return of Fantasy League!

Here is the weekly breakdown...

Top performers

Salford's star man Jayden Nikorima was the top performer this week in Fantasy. Nikorima was the only three figure scorer of the round, as he registered a whopping 106 points during his Player of the Match performance on Thursday night.

Nikorima scored two tries and made 236 metres in an impressive display against Huddersfield Giants. And if Nikorima is going to start pulling the strings following Marc Sneyd’s departure, is he someone worth transferring into your side?

Any other week, an 85-point haul would make you the top performing stand-off, but Steve Prescott MBE Man of Steel Mikey Lewis has to settle for second best in Week 5.

The Hull KR halfback scored twice in the first forty and was pivotal in his side's 30-0 success over Leigh Leopards.

With 275 points so far this season, is Lewis a player to add to your Fantasy team?

Despite being on the losing side, Leopard Tesi Niu claimed 76 points, the third highest of the week. From 25 carries, Niu broke the 200-metre mark, running 211 in the away defeat in East Hull.

This high scoring performance sees him become the centre who leads the way this season...

Fantasy flops

Red Devils full-back, Ryan Brierley, was required to play out of position on Thursday - and fans will be left wondering if this may have harmed his Fantasy score. With just 14 points obtained in Round 5, the Red Devils number 1 was, unusually, one of the lower scorers.

If Brierley is required to feature in numerous positions for the time being, is he a player who should be replaced until he returns to his natural spot?

It won’t come as a huge surprise that Lachlan Lam didn’t score too well, with his Leopards side being nilled at Sewell Group Craven Park. The influential half scored just 21 points and at £140k...continuing these scores would be an expensive ask.

Was this a one-week blip or is Lam someone you need to consider replacing?

Daryl Clark has performed impressively in Fantasy for years and is many people’s go-to hooker. However, 20 points this week proved to be an atypical drop off.

Heading into Round 5, Clark had 255 points, averaging 64 points per week. So to claim just 20, proves a low scoring from the Saints number 9.

Are you expecting the run to continue or will he return to his high scoring exploits next week?

Don't miss the deadline!

With a new update to Fantasy in 2025, don’t forget you have until 6pm on Thursday 27 March to make any changes to your teams!
