Round 2 Team of the Week

Round 2's Team of the Week...

Hull KR made it two wins from two on Thursday night as they hung on to beat Wakefield Trinity. Skipper Elliot Minchella showed up for his side with a commendable 45 tackles, whilst Tom Davies scored the opening try for the Robins.

In defeat, Oli Pratt, a future Trinity star in the making, impressed for the hosts and went on to cause all sorts of problems for his opposition.

Not only did he run a total of 216 metres in just 21 carries, but he also made a whooping eight tackle busts and scored a crucial try that helped Wakefield back into the game.

On Friday, Warrington Wolves duo George Williams and Danny Walker starred at the Luke Littler Stadium in their home opener.

Captain Williams produced three try assists, including the one to Walker’s terrific breakaway try. Together they also made over 50 tackles against Catalans Dragons and Walker is once again recognised for his efforts through another Team of the Week inclusion.

Jai Field was Wigan Warriors’ main man with a stunning hattrick against Hull FC in Round 2. Halfback Harry Smith then guided the champions beautifully around the pitch and therefore takes a deserved spot in Team of the Week.

The youngsters of the sport then continued to shine at the weekend. Rhinos’ Riley Lumb produced a Player of the Match performance and scored two tries in his side’s strong away win over Salford Red Devils.

Joining him is teammate Morgan Gannon, who came up with a strenuous score and a solid performance.

There’s then a trio of Saints players who feature in Team of the Week following their convincing victory over Castleford Tigers.

Try scorers Alex Walmsley (with his second successive TOTW appearance), young talent Harry Robertson (who bagged a brilliant brace) and Agnatius Paasi, have all been picked for Team of the Week.

Powerhouse Paasi also produced a ridiculous 147 metres and 7 tackle busts in a jawdropping 33-minute stint.

Then, from Sunday’s game, Ethan O’Neill emerged as the top tackler for Leigh Leopards. He appears in Team of the Week for a second week running...
