There were plenty of stars in action in Round 1, and firstly, Leigh Leopards’ new recruit Tesi Niu features after impressing in Leigh’s historic win away at Wigan Warriors on Thursday night.
Niu ran 185 metres in 24 carries and made six tackle busts against the current champions - in what was a blistering Battle of the Borough.

Likewise, new signing Ethan O’Neill went well on his Leopards Super League debut, completing 37 tackles in a game of sheer defence and intensity.
On Friday, Joe Burgess starred for the Robins with a hat-trick and scored the first Super League try of 2025, while Hull FC came up with the spoils in south of France – securing their first away win since Round 18 in 2023.

Three Black & Whites appear in Round 1’s Team of the Week – skipper Aidan Sezer’s two try assists proved to be pivotal – with Jordan Lane on the back of the halfback's grubber kick to touch down for Hull’s opening try.

Winger Lewis Martin emerged as the highest metre maker between the two sides, running for a staggering 180 metres in 27 carries.
There’s a trio of Trinity stars in Team of the Week after their triumph against Leeds Rhinos on Saturday, where they enjoyed a victorious return to the top flight.
Wakefield’s main man Max Jowitt takes the fullback spot after his two tries gave his side an early 10-0 advantage at AMT Headingley.
Mike McMeeken completed a massive 72-minute stint, providing an instant impact in his new side. The England international made a mammoth 49 tackles and an impressive 107 metres in the Red, White & Blue.

Likewise, Jay Pitts was another one of Trinity's workhorses – producing 42 tackles and 109 metres in a full 80 minute performance.
Show-stopping Tristan Sailor was sensational for St Helens on Saturday evening, with four tries, two try assists and 177 metres in an astonishing 12 carries.
It was a dream Super League debut for the Saints speedster, who will undoubtedly be one to keep an eye out for in the upcoming rounds…

His teammate and prop Alex Walmsley also made a jaw-dropping 215 metres.
The final game of Round 1 saw Warrington Wolves then claim a win over Huddersfield Giants. Toby King delivered the goods in attack with a decisive try and 112 metres, while Danny Walker continued his consistency into 2025 - ensuring 44 tackles; the most of any Wolves player on the pitch.

Round 2 of the Betfred Super League gets underway with Wakefield Trinity hosting Hull KR on Thursday night (live on Sky Sports), with both sides looking to continue their successful start to the new campaign.
