Friday saw a bruising battle between the top two as Wigan Warriors took one to step closer to securing a second consecutive League Leaders’ Shield.

Liam Marshall’s quick-fire brace was what ultimately secured the win, but the efforts of Junior Nsemba and Jake Wardle throughout also helped the Warriors to victory.

There’s a trio of Leopards appearing in this week’s Team of the Week as Adrian Lam’s men continued their impressive winning run and moved up to fifth in the Super League table.

Is there anything Kai O’Donnell can’t do? The second rower had the perfect performance in Round 25, with one try, 111 metres, as well as 31 tackles made.

Two-try scorer Tom Amone features, and so does Ricky Leutele, who made the most metres out of any player on the pitch with 184.

Leeds Rhinos recorded their biggest win of the season on Friday night, with talented youngster Alfie Edgell running in four tries on the wing.

Brodie Croft was also the Rhinos’ mastermind, with two tries, two try assists, six tackle busts and 159 metres as the hosts

stormed to victory at AMT Headingley.

And there was no stopping their teammate James Bentley, as he also contributed two tries and came up with a whooping nine tackle busts in the 59 minutes he played.

Ben Currie is included in Team of the Week after Warrington Wolves’ win against St Helens. His defensive efforts were outstanding with an impressive 32 tackles – making a huge impact in keeping Saints scoreless.

Maverick Marc Sneyd ensured Salford would climb back into the top six on Saturday, with his reliable goal kicking and admirable leadership on the pitch.

A scooting run and score from Joe Mellor under the sticks would be the moment the Red Devils took also hold on the game.
