Dragons' home game against Warriors to be broadcast live throughout France
28 Aug 2024
Fixtures against Wigan have always been special for the Catalans Dragons, stretching back to their memorable opening night in Perpignan back in 2006, and including an historic showdown at Barcelona’s Camp Nou in 2019 before last autumn’s Grand Final at Old Trafford.
So it is fitting that Matt Peet’s Warriors provide the opposition when the Dragons stage a landmark occasion at Stade Gilbert Brutus this Saturday night.
The ground will be packed, with over 1,000 Wigan fans adding to the vibrant spectacle of a Dragons home game. The match will kick-off at 9pm local time and be broadcast live throughout France on L’Equipe’s main linear channel, La Chaîne L'Équipe, following the broadcast deal secured by IMG.
It has also been selected for exclusive live coverage by Sky Sports.
Christophe Levy, the Dragons' Commercial Director, said:
“This is a very big night for the club in many ways. We are always pleased to welcome Wigan to Brutus, given the special games we have played against them.
“It is perfect to have a repeat of the 2023 Grand Final as our first game this season on L’Equipe TV – and we also have our last home game of the season, against London Broncos in two weeks, on the same channel.
“It has been another big year of development for our club off the field, and we were pleased that our partners Les Vignes du Vent extended their involvement to become the official wine of Super League.
“The Wigan game is so important to both clubs on the field, with competition so fierce at the top of the table.”
