Top performers
It was Bevan French who stole the show in the Battle of the Borough - Wigan’s star man scored a round best 93 points in Fantasy this week. French scored a brace of tries, made 12 tackle busts and covered a 201 metres from 20 carries. Expect French to have a big finish to 2024 as the Warriors look to clinch top spot.
Matt Dufty was another big scorer in Round 16 of Fantasy thanks to a 90 point tally against the Giants. It was a comfortable evening for Sam Burgess’ side, as they ran out 48-0 winners against the Giants, with Dufty scoring a try, setting up four more while making six tackle busts, and carrying for 254 metres from a huge 24 carries. Dufty once againshowing why he’s second in the overall Fantasy rankings.

Rhys Kennedy impressed in Round 16, hitting a season high 79 points in the Broncos' narrow defeat to the Rhinos. Kennedy scored a try, made 48 tackles, four tackle busts and covered 106 metres from 18 carries during a lung-busting 63 minute display. Will Kennedy kick on from this score and become a popular choice in the run home for Fantasy?
Fantasy Flops
Lachlan Fitzgibbon failed to have an impact in Round 16 after suffering a shoulder injury early on in the Wolves' big win against Huddersfield. Fitzgibbon, who had just returned from a reoccuring back injury, sustained a knock on his shoulder after just 13 minutes, leaving him with a low score of seven Fantasy points.
Fantasy heavyweight Matt Parcell underperformed this week, scoring just 12 points in Hull KR’s golden point defeat to Catalans. Parcell managed just 24 minutes on the field - despite the contest going into extra time - resulting in a score of 12 points.
It was a disappointing night for Josh Charnley and the Leopards who were on the wrong end of the result against the World Champions Wigan. Charnley scored 14 points in the game, featuring for just 41 minutes after he took a nasty knock to the ribs.
Looking ahead
Josh Charnley went for a scan over the weekend after his injury on Friday evening. There have been no updates regarding Charnley’s injury status, so keep an eye out for any developments. Elsewhere on the injury front, Lachlan Fitzgibbon has been ruled out for Warrington's game against Leeds on Thursday.
Brad O’Neil has been charged with a one match penalty notice due to a Grade B dangerous throw against Leigh Leopards. He will now miss the top of the table clash against St Helen’s.
Saints’ Moses Mbye will be unavailable for their huge clash against Wigan Warriors on Friday night. Mbye has been handed a Grade B dangerous contact charge following an incident in their home defeat to Castleford Tigers.
