Players certainly rose to the occasion in Rivals Round, and the weekend kicked off with Wakefield and Castleford renewing a fierce rivalry.
It mattered more to skipper Mike McMeeken who produced a mammoth 52 tackles and 115 metres against his former club – ensuring that his new side would finally end their losing streak to the Tigers once and for all.

Mikey Lewis loves The Hull Derby, as he produced two try crucial assists for the Robins as they claimed the spoils over their inner-city rivals for a second time in two weeks at the MKM Stadium.
Likewise, teammate Peta Hiku raised the bar with one try, one try assist, 143 metres and a total of five tackle busts.

James Batchelor then crossed for Hull KR’s game-breaking try and stood tall in defence with 31 tackles, thus earning his place in Rivals Round Team of the Week.
Emotions were running high when Wigan Warriors hosted St Helens in their annual Good Friday contest, and Jai Field stole the show with two terrific tries.

Abbas Miski then became a hero of town as he crossed for the match-winner in the dying minutes of the match, having also scored in the first forty. This is his second match-winning try in two weeks, having also secured the win for his side against Hull KR in Round 7.
Harry Newman stepped up in his side’s West Yorkshire Derby against Huddersfield Giants with two try assists as the Rhinos recorded their fifth win of the season.

On Saturday, Rivals Round continued with Leigh Leopards in home action to Warrington Wolves.
It was a tale of two halves but there were two Leopards figures who played a pivotal part in team's victory.
Edwin Ipape scored the opening try, before completing 30 tackles, 107 metres and five tackle busts in an appaulable 74- minute stint.

Similarly, Issac Liu came up with 33 tackles and 119 metres - both players among the top tacklers of the day.
There are four Dragons who feature in the Rivals Round Team of the Week after an sensational performance in the south of France.

Luke Keary also arguably enjoyed his best performance yet with three try assists and excellent leadership around the field.
Ferocious efforts were also made by reliable powerhouses Julian Bousquet and Tariq Sims, who were not only both on the scoresheet, but surpassed over 200+ metres and made seven tackle busts between them.
