RL Commercial extend partnership with Steeden until 2030

Rugby League Commercial have agreed a long-term extension with the Rugby League ball specialists Steeden, which means Steeden balls will continue to be used in the Men’s, Women’s and Wheelchair Super Leagues and throughout the Rugby League pyramid in the UK for the next five seasons until 2030.

Steeden, founded in Queensland in 1958 and linked to the British cricket brand Gray Nicholls since 1995, are also official ball suppliers to the National Rugby League (NRL) in Australia and New Zealand – and will also provide the balls for this autumn’s return of the Rugby League Ashes Series.

Steeden balls have been used in the Super League and throughout British Rugby League since 2019, meaning the new deal will extend that partnership to more than a decade.

Nick Gray, Director of Steeden, said:

"Steeden is deeply committed to Rugby League, and this continued partnership allows us to provide the sport with top quality balls. With this extended partnership, we are committed to working with RL Commercial and the RFL on the development of Rugby League in the UK. We aim to strengthen Rugby League’s footprint, with Steeden’s expertise and commitment to excellence playing a vital role in shaping the future of the sport.”

Rhodri Jones, the Managing Director of RL Commercial, said:

“We’re delighted to confirm this long-term partnership with Steeden. They are an iconic Rugby League brand, and their balls are regarded as the gold standard by the tens of thousands of men, women, boys and girls who play the sport in the UK."
